If you took one of Madelyn's previous classes at NYIC or have experience with Sean-nós singing, this class is for you!
In this 7-week course taught by Irish-American traditional singer Madelyn Monaghan, students will continue learning the Irish traditional style of singing, sean-nós (old style). The class is for anyone who has completed the beginner sean-nós course or already has a familiarity with the Irish language and/or traditional singing.
Each week, the class will learn a new song in Irish and also discuss its origin, translation, deeper meanings, and historical context. These songs are such a vital part of the Irish culture, and a wonderful gateway for learning the language.
