Getting Started: Researching Your Irish Ancestors

This will be a free introductory session on the basics of Irish genealogy.  Learn how Irish history has shaped the information available and gain tips and recommendations on how to find out more about your Irish roots.

Led by Bridget Bray, organizer of The NYC Irish / British Genealogy Meetup Group and The Genealogy Event, a fall genealogy fair in New York, the afternoon promises to take you on a whirlwind tour back a few centuries and hopefully spark your interest in getting started on your own family history research!

Starting February 1st! Wednesdays: 1pm - 4pm

Starting February 1st , drop by the New York Irish Center between 1pm and 4pm for one on one assistance with genealogy and family history questions.

Joe Buggy, experienced genealogist and family historian will be on hand to provide free guidance in your quest to research your Irish ancestry. A member of the Association of Professional Genealogists and the Irish Family History Forum and a former tour guide in two 13th century religious sites in Ireland, St Mary's Church Gowan and St Canice's Cathedral Kilkenny Joe will provide the opportunity for you to advance your knowledge and the further discovery of your Irish roots and heritage!
