Annual Dinner Dance

A Chara,

We cordially invite you and your friends to join us in celebrating the third year of the new Irish Center – the first to be serving the whole of the Irish community in the tri-State area. Our Dinner Dance is being held in Antun’s,
96-43 Springfield Boulevard, Queens Village, NY11429, on Friday evening, April 11, 2008, commencing at 8:00 pm with a deluxe Cocktail Hour followed by Dinner and Dancing from 9:00 pm until 1:00 am.

Tickets are priced at $80 each (Table of ten $800) and can be purchased by calling the Center at 718-482-0908 or can be purchased online here. Music will be provided by the popular Summer Wind.

We are privileged to have as our Guests of Honor two men who have made huge contributions to the Irish community over the years:

James P. Mahoney is a native New Yorker who has been honored for his tremendous work by many organizations throughout the years. In 1982 James began his career in the Ornamental Ironworkers Local 580 working in all phases of the Industry, Journeyman, Steward and foreman. In 1996 he was elected as business agent for the Brooklyn/Queens area and in 1999 he was elected to the Manhattan Business agent position which he still holds. James was greatly involved with the Irish Center from it’s inception, and was instrumental in securing people for the iron work needed here at the Center.

Sean Mackin, a native Irish man from the north of Ireland, is a member of our Board of Directors. He has built a very successful business based on the trade he served his time to in Belfast — plumbing! Sean, and his beautiful wife Philomena, and devoted family, are well known in the community for supporting causes especially for the under-privileged and disadvantaged. He has been a dedicated friend to the Irish Center from the time it was just a dream of a few Irish people who saw the changes coming and the need for a focus for the Irish community.

Please make every effort to join us in this celebration and help us raise the necessary funds to continue our present much needed programs in the community and also to develop other equally necessary facilities for the ever changing Irish American scene. We would like to invite you to visit our website www.nyirish.org to see our many ongoing events that we’d like you to participate in or avail of as well as space for rental for many programs or events.

In conjunction with our Dinner Dance, we are publishing a Souvenir Journal - please click here to download the advertising contract (requires Adobe Reader) for your consideration.

God bless you,

Fr. Colm Campbell, Chairman

Doreen O’Brien Robin, 718-274-9734, Chairperson, Dinner Dance Committee
